Terms of business
Thank you for becoming a client of Nutrition East. The below information sets out our Terms and Conditions of business:
It is recommended that all intake forms are returned by email, a minimum of 3 working days before your consultation. The more complete the documentation, the more you will get out of your appointment.
I work with packages as these help with compliance, continuity and ultimately achieve the best results. Making change is difficult and willpower is not infinite therefore its easy to slope off and stop appointments when the going gets tough. Success rate is notably higher when you have a programme to follow for 10-12 weeks to embed your new habits. There are follow up packages available too. The initial consultation includes analysis of the intake form and a personalised bespoke wellness programme to follow to include: diet and nutrition, lifestyle recommendations, herbs and supplements. Face to face or Skype appointments of 45, 50 or 60 minutes include a written report, 15 or 30 minutes calls do not.
Packages are agreed and paid for in advance and cannot be cancelled or postponed.
You have 3 weeks after the agreed package completion date to finish your programme at which point all outstanding appointments will be forfeited.
Any follow up appointments longer than 8 weeks will need to be 60minutes long and charged accordingly.
I take payment by bank transfer or Paypal.
Payment for testing must be made on placement of order for the test kit. We will not order any testing or products without your permission. The results of any clinical testing ordered through the practice will be discussed in your next scheduled appointment and the results incorporated into your plan.
A fee of £35 is charged for analysis and interpretation of any other testing (not including a a blood test from your GP – see package).
Please be advised that consultations cancelled with 2-3 days notice (excluding weekends) will be charged at £35, whereas those cancelled with 24hours notice only will be charged in full.
Email correspondence should not be used as a substitute for face to face, skype or telephone contact. Lengthy questions or complex issues are best addressed in a follow up meeting or progress call otherwise you can request an urgent call to be arranged and charged in line with the hourly rate.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time. If you are late, if possible we will overrun (free) however, if this is not possible then we will use the remaining time of your appointment to examine your case.
If a meeting overruns, you will be charged accordingly.
I endeavour to send your wellness plans within 5 days of your consultation but If this is not possible, you will be advised in advance.
The nature of Functional Medicine and Nutritional Therapy is to look for the underlying root cause of health issues. Each case is individual and the complexity of the case and the length of time a patient has been suffering, will greatly affect the length of time it takes to get well. Unfortunately, there is no magic pill but with my expertise and your application to your programme, rapid improvement is possible. However, most clients find improvements are cumulative and will manifest as each month goes by. If a health issue is complex this can take anywhere between 3-9 months.
In complex or persistent cases, it is important to understand that regular contact with you over a period of time is the best way to get results as you build commitment and we develop our therapeutic relationship. The programme is a process and will change with each meeting as we work on different issues in a prescribed order according to your progress. Treatment can last 6-12 months although signs of improvement can be expected earlier in the protocol, often after the first 6 weeks.
Clients are advised that we only use the very highest quality supplements and herbal medicine with minimal excipients (additives). On occasion, clients have had reactions to products. This Is out of our control and clients are advised to contact us immediately if this occurs so we can work out which product is causing a reaction.
It is the client’s responsibility to inform us if any surgery or operations are scheduled as this will impact on your programme.
